In order to particpate in the internet of things it's important to understand the basic principals of REST based web services. This overview will help you determine what skills are needed for these kinds of projects, and run through a basic example of getting information into Thingspeak.com  and Pachube.com.

This class will serve as an introduction to REST based web services, and students will interact with them
using Javascript, jQuery, and proxy servers. This class will use cloud9ide, and use node.js for proxy services.

Students are expected to already have a basic understanding of HTML, Javascript, and CSS.  Students must provide their own laptop. If you can not provide your own laptop, please contact us before purchasing a ticket and we will attempt to make alternate arrangements for you.
